Dr. Alex Keller, ND, CISSN is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor in Health Sciences and Psychology. Although originally intending to attend conventional medical school, following a three-month volunteer internship at a rural Kenyan hospital where he observed how doctors used local food to treat patients, he shifted his career goals and pursued a degree in naturopathic medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.
After one year of practicing with the esteemed Dr. Chris Pickrell, ND, RH in a community acupuncture setting, in 2015 he and his wife Dr. Jenn Keller, ND moved to Ottawa where they started an organic farm and retreat center in North Gower, ON. In the same year, Alex and his sister Jess Keller combined their practices to form Keller Active Health in Ottawa, ON, which they operated successfully for five years. He currently practices exclusively via telemedicine and can work with patients across the province of Ontario.
He is a member in good standing of:
College of Naturopaths of Ontario
Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors
Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors
International Society of Sports Nutrition
Institute for Functional Medicine
Ever curious and passionate about the education of evidence-based natural medicine, in 2017, Dr. Keller joined an Ottawa-based health tech startup named Fullscript, where he serves as Medical Director and oversees the development of medical education content for practitioners across North America.
As a former provincial-level athlete in rugby and competitive-level athlete in football, hockey, and soccer, Alex has a deep respect for the influence athletics and movement can have on a person's overall health. Today, having traded his cleats for running shoes, he competes in ultra-marathon trail races and half/full marathon road races.
In his spare time, he and Jenn raise their son Oliver and tend to the everyday duties that come with operating a farm.
